The fight for fair prison phone rates continues. This Mother's Day weekend the families of prisoners and detainees will have to make a hard choice: whether or not to pay $20 for a quick phone call with an incarcerated loved one. Affected are over 2 million families and more than 2.7 million children.
We need your help to remind the Federal Communications Commission how families of prisoners are being impacted especially during the holidays. Starting TODAY through Monday, the Campaign for Prison Phone Justice and Free Press are hosting an action to share the stories of Moms struggling to stay connected with their children because of expensive prison phone calls. Here's how you can support our efforts:
1. Sign our letter to FCC Commissioners Pai & Rosenworcel reminding them that their leadership is needed now more than ever.
2. Share a postcard via Twitter to FCC Commissioners with a powerful story from an impacted family member.
