It will include a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of home ownership as well as how to determine how much a person can afford. We will discuss how to prepare and shop for a loan, what to expect working with a Realtor and the other professionals involved in the process. We will discuss credit and credit reports as well as adjusting one's budget.

*Mystery Book Club: The Woods by Harlen Coben

Monday, May 11, 7:00 p.m. No registration required. New members are welcome.

Twenty years ago, four teenagers at summer camp walked into the woods at night. Two were found murdered, and the others were never seen again. Four families had their lives changed forever. Now, two decades later, they are about to change again. For county prosecutor Paul "Cope" Copeland, mourning the loss of his sister has only recently begun to subside. Balancing family life and a rapidly ascending career distracts him from his past traumas, but only for so long. When a homicide victim is found with evidence linking him to Cope, the well-buried family secrets are threatened. Is this victim one of the campers who disappeared with his sister? Could his sister be alive? Cope has to confront so much he left behind that summer—he must decide what is better left hidden in the dark and what truths can be brought to the light.

*Science Fiction Book Discussion

There will be no Science Fiction Discussion Group meeting in May. The next meeting will be on Saturday, June 22 at 2:30 p.m.

*Central Reads Book Club: The Light Between Oceans by M. S. Stedman

In 1918 Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia to take a job as the lighthouse keeper on remote Janus Rock. To this isolated island, Tom brings a young and loving wife, Isabel. Three years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, Isabel hears a baby’s cries on the wind. A boat has washed up on shore carrying a dead man and a living baby. Their decision to keep the baby and not report her existence to the authorities has terrible, unintended consequences.
