In poetry, I use lots of persona,
merging people with me,
a creative, empathetic technique
I learned from constant study.
But my fear is filtered through others,
my eyes see what they see,
and you read all of us--not just me.
I decided I must hide honestly
because no one would ever believe
the truth that accompanies me.
It's just too strange to accept
--even often for me.
