Haiku: Defining Trust

If trust means knowing,
always, I'll do the right thing,
then never trust me.

Starkly, I admit
I trust almost nobody.
So get used to it.
Storing at least veins
of terracotta between
us keeps us both sane.

I will always choose
which stones to keep there and which
I'll let you remove.

K.M. Gotthardt

I never know where inspiration might come from or how far the metaphor will extend, which is part of the magic of poetry.
