Start of some lyrics

Been really listening to some lyrics lately (not that I don't always do that--I can't hear a song without trying to figure out what the singer is saying), and I had these running through my head.  Don't know if I will bother revising.  I don't have a reason to write lyrics.  These just kind of came out.  They're not very good, but whatever.
==================================
What you say comes out of murky water,
what lives beneath I do not want to know.
And when you talk, I'm listening very closely,
but my heart knows where to go.

Cause I've met you a hundred times now,
your face has changed, but so much is the same.
So I will give the things I'd give a stranger,
but I will never ask your name.

Just because I smile and nod
doesn't mean I believe you.
Just because I laugh with you
doesn't mean I trust you.
Just because I meet your eye
doesn't mean I want you.
Just because
just because
it's you.

You seemed to think so very deeply,
each word you said I thought meant something more,
but there's no safe place to walk 'round blindly.
So I've learned to lock the door.

Don't get me wrong--it's not that I don't like you.
Don't get me wrong--it's not that I don't care.
But when there's a million who are like you,
you just have to be aware that

just because I smile and nod
doesn't mean I believe you.
Just because I laugh with you
doesn't mean I trust you.
Just because I meet your eye
doesn't mean I want you.
Just because
just because
it's you.

I know I don't know what you're thinking,
and I've learned it's best I never ask.
So I'll keep the waves of conversation rolling
on the present, not the past.

Cause somewhere underneath your liqid surface
lives a thing that needs a cage,
but it's not my job to keep it for you,
so listen to me when I say,

just because I smile and nod
doesn't mean I believe you.
Just because I laugh with you
doesn't mean I trust you.
Just because I meet your eye
doesn't mean I want you.
Just because
just because
it's you.
