Well, Dive, even though you couldn't hop a jet from the UK, there were 17 people at the reading (you can minus three if you don't want to count my husband and two kids) which I thought was pretty good for a poetry reading! A hefty percentage of those people were in the museum and stayed for the reading.

I had my notes all written out and my pages marked, and I discovered that once I started to talk about the poems, it really was okay in spite of too many "ums." GOD I hate that!

A couple of people had questions, and even though I incorrectly added up the syllables that make a Haiku when someone asked me to explain what a Haiku was, it really was okay. The room was comfortable and large enough but not too big.

More than half of the audience bought the book and the museum store has some in stock now, too.

All in all, I would say it was successful. Now if I can get through this next black-tie event without spilling a drink, then I can really say I've accomplished something : )
